Balance in your physical space signifies perfect alignment between inner and outer worlds. ⚖️
There’s seriously something magical about making your home reflect your soul!
As I'm working on redecorating my new home in Utah, I'm trying to bring together organic elements and a feng shui approach to creating a balanced, high-vibe space. ⚡️
If you've read my "Crystals & Essential Oils Made Easy" post, you know that crystals and gemstones can be awesome tools for channeling and shifting energy.
In no way am I'm a crystal healing pro - I enjoy using them personally, but I don't integrate them into my coaching practice. So, when I decided I wanted to include crystals in my home design, I decided to turn to crystal guru Jordie Caskey at Crystalarium in Los Angeles, California.
Below, you'll find four crystals that are perfect for a harmonious home! If you're new to crystals, this guide will give you the perfect place to start!
Before i dive in...
For those of you new to crystals, here are some tips for starting a crystal collection!
A crystal collection can be quite the investment and some can cost a pretty penny. Start out with 1-2 crystals and go from there.
Prioritize by the support you need
Different crystals have different properties that can support physical and emotional health (I talk more about this in my "Crystals & Essential Oils Made Easy" post). When starting a collection, I definitely recommend focusing on the support you need the most.
For most people, gemstones and crystals with protective qualities are a good place to start.
Once you have a crystal, it is often recommended that you go through a "cleansing" process - this kind of ritual is more energetic than physical.
A salt bath is common, where you "bathe" the stone in a salt solution (1 tbsp to 1 cup of water ratio). Essential oils can also be used to cleanse gems. Soluble crystals (such as selenite) should be cleansed by smoke by burning sage around them.
You don't know exactly where a crystal has come from or how it has been used, and so this cleansing process provides a clean slate to invite positive energy and good vibes.
There's a lot more that can be said. This post covers a lot of good info for beginners!
Now, let's jump into the...
4 Crystals You Need In Your Home!
1. BLACK TOURMALINE
According to Jordie Caskey, Black tourmaline..."puts up an energetic shield for the environment in which it's placed and prevents unwanted or negative energies from filtering in."
Black tourmaline is a great crystal to start with in a new home because of its grounding and neutralizing effect. Before bringing in positive vibes, negative energy has to be distilled. From there, other crystals can be used to generate beneficial powers.
"Amethyst...is great for added protection and provides a calm, centered atmosphere. Amethyst works with the crown chakra, allowing for access to higher states of consciousness and well-being."
During times of intense transition (e.g., moving into a new home), an amethyst can help set a soothing, tranquil atmosphere. Amethyst is one of my favorite stones, and is one of the first stones I decided to get for my new place.
"Selenite is an essential crystal for the home. It cleanses and clears the energies of other stones and the energetic field of the user. It's energy is that of grounded White Light, so it holds down a space like a spiritual beacon."
Its gentle, harmonious nature makes this stone a must-have for a new home - and it's so beautiful! Read more about the benefits of Selenite here.
4. ROSE QUARTZ
"Last, but not least is Rose Quartz which is very popular for providing the energy of universal love. It heals the heart and emotional wounds, making room for self love and harmonious relationships!"
Rose quartz also tops my list of favorite gemstones - it is the one gemstone I like to use most with my personalized essential oil blends. Bringing it into a new home helps to invite an abundance of love and is definitely a great way to start things off on the right foot.
