Hey, there! 👋🏼 My name is Joe Struhs - aka, Happy Healthy Joe! 😄 Let me introduce myself! I’m an integrative health coach based out of sunny LA. 🌴☀️ As a health coach I work mostly with millennial professionals (in-person and remotely) and take an integrative approach to wellness, incorporating a combination of 🥑 nutrition ✨ aromatherapy ❤️ self-care practices 🙌🏼 positive psychology 📚 and other tools and resources to help my clients reach their goals and achieve the balance they’re looking for. I’m also an essential oil educator (and lover! 💦💞) and host classes and workshops on emotional aromatherapy, nontoxic living, and natural DIY on the regular. I haven't always been "Happy Healthy Joe." Before IIN, I worked in digital marketing as a social media director and have a background in PR. Wellness is a journey and, I've definitely come a long way! No matter where you are on your happy, healthy journey, you have to start somewhere! Morning rituals are a powerful way to set intentions that lead to action! While attending IIN, setting new morning routines allowed me to reclaim my time, focus, and boost my productivity. #SNACKATTACK! 🍪🤗 I never know where I’ll be working from (every day is a new adventure!) so I ALWAYS make it a point to keep healthy snacks within arm’s reach. Gut health has SO much to do with overall wellness and emotional balance, so I'm all about food fuel that promotes a balanced microbiome. As I like to say, "A healthy gut = a happy you!" Bernie Siegel, MD (one of my favorite IIN guest lecturers) taught me a lesson that I talk about almost every day: what we think and believe literally changes our body chemistry! Emotional aromatherapy is a huge part of my health coaching practice. 🙌🏼💦✨ Essentially (ha, see what I did there? 😉) essential oils are aromatic compounds distilled from plants. The nature of an essential oil varies from plant to plant, so no two essential oils are alike. Since they are aromatic compounds, one of the quickest ways essential oils can influence us is through our sense of smell. 👃🏼 When combined with an integrative approach (incorporating nutrition, self-care, and positive psychology), aromatherapy can be an awesome tool to support a healthy response to things like stress, anxious feelings, and negative emotions. — @happyhealthyjoe #IINtakeover www.happyhealthyjoe.com
When I discovered I had food sensitivities, initially I was discouraged. As I reached outside of my comfort zone, I learned to embrace a world of colorful, flavorful, life-giving alternatives to what I was used to eating. 🥗🍴Nutrition is just one aspect of wellness, but shifting my relationship with food shifted how I felt about myself and taught me how to listen to my body. As a health coach, I help a lot of my clients navigate food sensitivities and allergies. This past summer I launched @eos.lifestyle with some close friends - an online essential oil boutique where you can find nontoxic living supplies, tools and resources about aromatherapy, and handmade artisan goods! One of the greatest thing IIN did for me was empower me to teach and share wellness with others. I’m an introvert by nature, so acquiring the skills to become a health coach required me to really push myself!
