From my personal experience, I've developed a few core beliefs:

- I believe that you deserve to be happy. You deserve to love yourself. It's my purpose to give you the tools and knowledge you need to attract that happiness and abundance you deserve.
- And, let me be real - life is hard. Sometimes a little nudge in the right direction is what it takes to make it better. (And maybe some essential oils, a reinforcing affirmation, and a good cup of coffee. 😉)

We all have to start somewhere.
I haven't always been "Happy Healthy Joe." Wellness is a journey and, boy, I've come a long way.
ROCK BOTTOM IS USUALLY the starting point of that wellness journey.
The year was 2014, and I was sick and tired. Emotionally and physically.
I was fresh out of college, living at home, unemployed, and my parents had just separated. I was facing a faith crisis, and was recovering from an injury I sustained while training for a race that rendered me barely able to walk. Talk about a lot all at once!
That summer was quite the rough patch, and after hitting a bottleneck I had no choice but to face my demons or accept defeat and stay miserable.

I decided to take my health and happiness into my own hands.
dōTERRA essential oils: My Catalyst
At the time, I was pretty health conscious (or so I thought). I tried to eat a balanced diet, but I didn't know much about nutrition. I had hired a personal trainer and was trying to take care of myself physically. But I still felt my life was terribly out-of-balance. I was focusing on the wrong things.
I was missing a key component.
It took me a while to figure out exactly what that was.
By 2015, I had moved to LA for work. I picked up a freelance gig on the side that took me to San Jose to film a video project for a holistic health coach named Robin.
I didn't think much about the gig (I needed the extra cash at the time), but little did I know the universe had big plans for me.
I was just there to work, but as we were filming, Robin shared her story about how she had dived into the wellness industry with her sister, and what she shared really resonated with me: a family history of difficult health situations, debilitating and traumatic mood disorders, and the search for answers.
Robin and her sister found empowerment and all-natural emotional support in something I hadn't considered using before. Pure essential oils.
All this time, the one thing I hadn't done was fully processed my negative emotions. I was too scared to face them, and I didn't know how. Growing up I had always been taught to suppress my negative feelings and to "fake it until you feel it" - never actually facing a lot of my problems.
My curiosity was more than piqued - I was eager to try these essential oils out for myself.
A few days after the project wrapped and I was back in LA, I found a surprise on my doorstep: a box full of essential oils! Robin had caught on to my interest and had sent me a care package!
I'm not talking about one or two oils here - Robin set me a whole set of essential oils she handpicked for me specifically to offer the emotional support I needed.
Some of the oils in that care package included:

- dōTERRA's Balance Grounding Blend
- dōTERRA's Elevation Joyful Blend
She also included a book on emotional aromatherapy with a little note that said:
"look up your oils in this book. start experimenting!!"
And so I did.
I did my research and developed a daily essential oil routine for myself. First thing in the morning, I'd apply essential oils to the bottom of my feet, I'd diffuse them throughout the day, and I'd use them aromatically and topically throughout the day.
At first, the only difference I could notice was that I smelled REALLY good. 😉 Other people noticed too - I got several compliments. "You smell sooooo good! What are you wearing?"
But, soon, it was more than just how I smelled. After a few weeks, the change was obvious...
For the first time in a long time, I felt...happy.
I was stable. I was motivated. I was content.
The dark clouds that had hung over me were gone, replaced by sunshine and the reassurance that everything was going to be okay.
Using dōTERRA essential oils and starting a daily emotional aromatherapy routine not only helped me gain control of my mood, but it also sparked changes in other areas of my life.
I started using affirmations daily. I created a vision board. I did a lot of research, and discovered the important role nutrition plays in gut health and emotional wellness. I did an elimination diet to identify food sensitivities, switched to mostly organic foods, cut out processed foods, and started eating a more whole food diet.
And then I realized, the one thing that gave me more satisfaction than anything else was helping other people on their wellness journeys.
I quit my job, and decided to become a health coach.
I received my health coaching certification through Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I studied and researched innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories: everything from Ayurveda, gluten-free, and Paleo, to raw, vegan, and macrobiotics, and everything in between.
One reason I chose this program is because it embraces all the different aspects of health and wellness, with an emphasis on bio-individuality - a concept that there is no one way to eat healthy and wellness is a personal journey.
Wellness is a personal matter, and you deserve to explore your wellness journey in a way that meets your needs.
